Washington: An active-duty U.S. Air Force member dies after hiding outside the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C. He declared that he would no longer take part in genocide and committed suicide by self-immolation.
The Metropolitan Police Department announced Monday that Airman Aaron Bushnell, 25, of San Antonio, Texas, died from his injuries.

Bushnell was walking to the embassy just before 1 p.m. He began livestreaming on the video streaming platform Twitch on Sunday, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

Police believe the man started the livestream, hung up the phone, then doused his body with an accelerant and set himself on fire.
According to the person, he once said, ``I will no longer participate in genocide.'' The video was later removed from the platform, but law enforcement authorities obtained a copy and reviewed it.
The person was not authorized to discuss details of the ongoing investigation publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
The incident occurred as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sought Cabinet approval for a military operation in Rafah, a town in southern Gaza, while negotiations were underway on a temporary ceasefire agreement. But Israeli military attacks in Gaza have drawn criticism, including accusations of genocide against Palestinians.
Israel categorically rejects the allegations of genocide and says it is operating in the Israel-Hamas war in accordance with international law. A person self-immolated outside the Israeli consulate in Atlanta in December, using gasoline as an accelerant, according to Atlanta fire officials.
A Palestinian flag was found at the scene, and the act is seen as an "extreme political protest."
