Thousands of people, including many celebrities from the worlds of film, politics and sports, arrived in Ayodhya on Sunday ahead of the ceremony, where the temple town was decorated with flowers and streets and footpaths were beautified. “With dedication, the Purana Pratishtha ritual to be held at 10 am at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya will be graced by the majestic Mangal Dhwani.

Roads are  widened, newly laid sidewalks are polished, building facades are washed in a uniform shade of yellow, and temple motifs are decorated.

The ceremony will also be attended by people from all walks of life, including representatives from various tribal communities. 


The Prime Minister will interact with the workers involved in the construction of the temple and visit  Kuber Tila, where an ancient Shiva temple has been restored. Built in the Nagara architectural style, the Ram temple is supported by 392 pillars and is accessible through 44 doors, of which 14 are gold-plated. In addition to the main shrine, a two-story, 14-feet wide temple adorned with 125 bronze statues of her depicting the Ramayana will be built at  the four corners of the bypass road. To the  south of the main building, seven more temples will be constructed dedicated to various saints and figures from the Ramayana, including Nishadraj, Ahalya and Shabri. Approximately 70% of the 70 hectare site remains undeveloped and is home to 600 trees.


"The main sanctum on the ground floor houses the childhood idol of Bhagwan Shri Ram (Shri Ramlala idol)," a PMO statement said. The main gate of the temple is  on the east side and is accessed by climbing 32 steps through the 'Shindwar'. 


The temple has a total of five halls: Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Pratana Mandap and Kirtan Mandap. The temple's foundation is built with a 14-meter-thick layer of roller compacted concrete (RCC), giving it the appearance of a man-made rock. According to the statement, no iron is used anywhere in the temple. Sanjay Dawalikar, head of the floral decoration team, also said that over 3,000 kg of flowers of over 20 varieties were used to decorate the grand structure.


"About 85-90 per cent of the temple decoration work has been completed. For this, over 3,000 kg of different types of flowers collected from different parts of India were used," Dawalikar told news agency PTI. told. On Sunday, the idol was bathed with holy water from 114 kalash (vases) containing medicinal waters and holy water from various pilgrimage sites  across the country. The ceremony included daily prayers, havan, and chants that continued into the night. An idol of Lord Ram Lalla was installed at Madhyadiva and night Jagran  was also held on the same day.  

The ceremony began on the afternoon of January 16th at Saru River. It was on January 17 that the idol of Lord Rama arrived at the temple complex. Puran Pratishtha is completed on Monday afternoon during the auspicious Abhijit Muhurat.

Many film stars including Rajinikanth and Kangana Ranaut arrived  at the newly opened Maharishi Valmiki International Airport on chartered flights. Satyendra Das, the 80-year-old chief priest of the Ram temple, said  the rituals, which are performed as per the instructions of Varanasi's chief priests  Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid and Laxmikant Shastri, also include bathing the statue of Arun of Mysuru Yogiraj. He said it would be.
