Comments from Indigo regarding the incident are awaited. IGIA is the country's largest airport, with approximately 1,400 daily flights and  four operational runways.

This latest episode comes amid a series of incidents involving the airline in recent days. On January 31, chaos erupted at the Delhi airport as passengers protested after IndiGo canceled a flight to Deogarh in Jharkhand.

Angry passengers raised slogans such as "Indigo Cho Hai" and questioned the airline's sudden decision. Also last month, cricketer Mayank Agarwal filed a police complaint alleging that he drank a "toxic liquid" on board an IndiGo flight to Delhi.

After the incident, he had to be hospitalized in Agartala.  In another episode, also in January, the pilot of an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Baku was on duty as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) launched an investigation to find out whether it took off without the requisite air traffic control. He was dismissed from the (ATC) margin.

Around the same time, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS)  imposed a fine of Rs 1.2 million on IndiGo after passengers were seen sitting on the tarmac and eating food while waiting for a delayed flight.

In one of the biggest incidents, an irritated passenger was caught on camera slapping the pilot of an IndiGo flight while he was making an announcement about delays.
