According to the Mirror newspaper, two drunken soldiers were found having sex in the cockpit of an Apache attack helicopter during routine maintenance.

The ground crew had just finished maintenance on an Army Air Corps AH-64 attack helicopter when they noticed something strange. They witnessed the Apache helicopter, worth 8.5 million rupees, or about 9 billion rupees, keep shaking.

The helicopter's rotors were shaking and there was a strange noise coming from inside. All this was noticed by ground crews as they were fitting a rain cover to an attack helicopter - a heavily armed helicopter like the Apache AH-64 in question, equipped with a 30mm cannon and Hellfire missiles.

When the crew inspected the helicopter more closely, they noticed two people crammed into the two-seater helicopter having sex. They were found shirtless.

It is believed that the male soldier was wearing military uniform, while the female soldier was wearing civilian clothes. Both were asked to dress and exit the helicopter. Both reportedly showed signs of intoxication.

A report to the Military Aviation Authority stated: "Both were shirtless, the man still in uniform and the woman in street clothing."

"They were detained until the chain of command from 653 Squadron and its parent unit arrived," the security report stated.

The incident took place at Otterburn Training Range in Northumberland in 2016. However, due to a computer error, it was only recently made public.
