Through the new Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), PayPal’s vast merchant network will become discoverable inside ChatGPT. Beginning in 2026, product catalogs from millions of PayPal merchants — from small businesses to global retail brands — will be automatically accessible in ChatGPT without requiring separate integrations.


PayPal will handle merchant routing, payment validation, and transaction orchestration behind the scenes, ensuring a smooth and compliant experience for both sellers and consumers.


The partnership also extends beyond commerce. PayPal plans to leverage OpenAI’s technology to enhance its internal AI capabilities, including scaling ChatGPT Enterprise for over 24,000 employees and enabling developers with advanced tools such as Codex.
